by Unknown User on 2016-11-28T11:24:55-05:00 | 0 Comments

On November 18, 2016, students of George Germek's first year seminar, The Story of the Book, along with students of the History Department and Honors School, enjoyed a special opportunity to tour the Morgan Library & Museum in New York City.  Roger Wieck, Department Head of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts at the world-renown Morgan Library, graciously provided a private, ninety-minute presentation on the Morgan's collection of medieval Books of Hours. Students also got the chance to tour other areas of the Morgan Library, and saw the original manuscript of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, a Gutenberg Bible, the works of Charlotte Bronte, and many important cultural artifacts.
