What are my Options?

Updated for the 2025 election cycle!

How to cast your vote in New Jersey!

New Jersey voters have several options for casting a ballot:

  • Early In Person - June 6-8, 2025 (primary), October 25 - November 2, 2025 (general election).
Each county, depending on its size, will designate a minimum of three to 10 voting locations for early in-person voting purposes. Early voting polling locations will be open from at least 10 am to 8 pm on Mondays through Saturdays, and from at least 10 am to 6 pm on Sundays. Any registered voter may vote early.
  • Vote by Mail - ballots sent on April 19, 2025 (primary), September 20, 2025 (general election).
You must apply for a Vote by Mail ballot - they are NOT sent to you automatically.  If you requested a Vote by Mail ballot and would like to vote in person instead, you may bring your unmarked Vote by Mail ballot with you to your voting location and surrender it. You will only be able to vote by provisional ballot, so your vote would not be counted until your eligibility is verified.
  • Election Day - June 10, 2025 (primary), November 4, 2025 (general election).
Anyone who is registered may vote on Election Day.

NOTE: Information and dates change every year since New Jersey has elections annually, so be sure to check for updated information on the NJ Voter Portal.
