Trip to the Free Public Library of Philadelphia

by Sara Rizzo on 2017-11-21T16:05:53-05:00 | 0 Comments

On November 17, 2017, students of associate librarian George Germek’s The Story of the Book first year seminar visited the Free Public Library of Philadelphia for a tour of its Rare Book Department. Librarians from the Free Public presented an up-close presentation of its rare and remarkable collection of medieval manuscripts. Students also saw the presentation “Big and Small, Books for All,” which displayed tiny books as small as your fingernail, to tomes a few feet tall. Many thanks to the staff at the Free Public Library of Philadelphia for a great day.
