Graduate Reference Assistant Program: Library Policies

Policies

A complete list of Policies can be found on the Library's website under the "About" tab: borrowing, instruction, interlibrary loan, reserves, computers and printing, and donations.

Course Reserves

Print reserves

Professors can put supplementary course materials on reserve. These items can be checked out for use in the library at the circulation desk.

E-Reserves

Some reserve materials are available electronically 24/7. A password from the professor is needed and the materials can be accessed:  E-Reserves

  Inter Library Loans

Can't find the book you needed for the patron's research project?

Occasionally, research may require books or articles that are not available at the MU Library. When this happens, we may be able to borrow the materials for you from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Requests generally take one to two weeks to be filled.

Please complete ILL forms with complete citation information to request an ILL.

VALE Reciprocal Agreement

Monmouth University and the New Jersey college and university libraries in the VALE consortium (54 libraries) have a reciprocal borrowing agreement for full-time faculty, staff and graduate students. Eighteen of the VALE Libraries have agreed to expand their participation and extend reciprocal borrowing privileges to each other's undergraduate students.

In order to advantage of using and borrowing materials from participating libraries, active MU faculty and students must complete an application form at the Library's circulation desk prior to visiting participating libraries. Loan periods are for 3 weeks and borrowers are responsible for returning materials and costs of damaged/lost books.
