Exploring Tarot & Oracle: Tools for Reflection and Research

Coming Soon!

Coming Soon!
Soon you’ll be able to check out tarot and oracle card decks from the library. These decks will be available for in-library use to encourage reflection, creativity, and mindfulness. Stay tuned for more details on this unique addition to our collection!

Getting Started

  1. Pick a deck that suits you. You can always pick another one later. You aren't bound to it for life.
  2. Once you open the deck, take the cards and knock three times on it with your left hand.
  3. Cleanse the cards with sage, palo santo, or rosemary smoke.
  4. Shuffle. Look at every card and get your energy on the deck.
  5. For extra energy, place a crystal on top.
  6. Don't get caught up trying to memorize all 78 cards! Read for yourself first. Use the guidebook that comes with the deck or check one out from the library.
  7. Remember that the guidebook is just another reader's interpretation. Use your own by storytelling with the cards you selected.
  8. The cards are just a tool for your own intuition.
  9. You are all intuitive!
  10. Practice! Practice! Practice! You will get better and more confident with time.

Interviewing Your Deck

Do this after purifying your deck. Record your answers in your journal.

  1. What work are we meant to do together?
  2. What are you here to teach me about myself?
  3. What are you here to teach me about the world?
  4. What card best describes you as a deck?
  5. What card best describes me at this time?
