Health, Wellness, and Well-Being

Social, mental and physical health can all be thought of as pertaining to an individual, and these are themes around which existing programs and courses can easily group. The health of larger systems may also be considered in this space. 

San Jose State University, in San Jose, CA has a College of Health and Human Sciences comprised of a School of Nursing, a School of Social Work, and departments of Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy, Public Health and Recreation, Audiology, and Food Science and Nutrition.

Programs of Distinction at Monmouth University

Connect Well MU - connects all members of the Monmouth University campus community with campus, local, state, and national resources, information, and up-to-date research on a wide-variety of mental health, substance use, health and general wellness topics. This portal is meant to provide support in locating and navigating access to Monmouth University’s and other local and national resources.

Promoting Wellness & Resiliency - is a University and community partnership program whose purpose is to enhance prevention, identification, and service utilization for all students, particularly those with mental and behavioral health problems, which elevate their risk for suicide ideation, attempts, and completions.

Counseling & Prevention Services - is one component of the University’s integrative team of health professionals providing holistic care for students’ well-being. CPS offers brief, episodic counseling to reduce symptoms and support students in addressing mild to moderate general mental health and substance use concerns.
