Unless you know the title and/or author of the book you are looking for, European History topics should be searched by Keyword to maximize the number of references to a topic.
Another way to search is to browse by Subject. Your search term would be "Europe History"; this heading is followed by the historical period. So, for example, if you wanted to search 20th-century European History, you would enter your search terms this way:
Europe History 20th Century
The historical period will be followed by increasingly specific subjects headings, such as Europe History 20th Century Philosophy. The catalog will then begin to break down the subject by specific dates ranges, for example, Europe History 476 1492.
You can begin to browse the subject headings for European History by visiting this catalog page. Another option to consider is locale. For example, you can begin to browse Germany. As you browse, you will see entries such as Germany Abortion History 20th Century or Germany Anarchism History
Most books about European History are found in the "D" sections of the Library. Keep in mind, however, that when you are studying the history of a topic, such as the history of education or the history of art, good sources pertaining to your topic can be found in many other areas of the library as well.
