Library Research Awards

2015 Award Recipients

The Monmouth University Library is pleased to congratulate the recipients of the 

2015 Library Research Awards.

Graduate student Jennifer McCue and undergraduate student Meaghan Hess have been selected to receive the 2015 awards. Both award winners made extensive use of library resources and services, demonstrated the ability to select, evaluate and synthesize the information collected, and showed personal learning and development of research skills.

Jennifer McCue’s research paper, The Attraction of Dark Tourism: How the Troubles Murals in Belfast, Northern Ireland Have Aided the City’s Post-Conflict Tourist Boom, was written for her History of Tourism Class taught by faculty member, Dr. Karen Schmelzkopf.

Meaghan Hess’s research paper, Looking Through the Lens: Iconic Photos in the Civil Rights Movement, was completed for her senior thesis in Dr. Christopher DeRosa’s Senior Seminar in History course.

An Honorable Mention has been awarded to undergraduate Courtney Brooks for her paper, Payday Loans: An Argument of Ethics, written for Ethics, Diversity, and Social Responsibility taught by Dr. Scott Jeffrey.
